POMPETTE

The mandate of this design was to encapsulate the essence of a fictitious establishment through the creation of a logo. The logo was crafted for "Pompette," a bar situated in Montreal. While the primary demographic comprises young adult women, the venue warmly welcomes everyone to enjoy a selection of cocktails, wines, snacks, and relax.

Derived from the French term for "tipsy," the word "pompette" is quite dynamic. The letterforms are intentionally created with fluidity, symbolizing the carefree, spirited ambiance associated with drinking. In the vibrant nightlife of Montreal, it is important for the logo to attract attention and resonate deeply with its intended audience.

Keeping in mind the cozy and warm atmosphere imagined for this bar, the color palette centers around a lush salmon pink with subtle undertones of orange. The colour also conveys femininity which aligns perfectly with the target demographic. The selected type is narrower than most allowing me to bring the letters closer together. By using a playful arrangement that stacks the letters, the logo achieves a delightful interplay of height and legibility, effectively capturing the whimsical essence of "Pompette."

I had a lot of fun with this project because I got to choose the name, the company and the art direction. It was pretty easy to extend this project, which was originally only a logo design, into a branding one, since I got to really imagine an entire world in which this bar exists.
